As a student who went to Global Finals three times and is from a small town in New Hampshire, I understand the excitement that comes with making it to Globals. However, shortly after the excitement comes the conversations about the cost of Globals and fundraising. My team received no assistance from our high school and therefore had to rely on support from the people in our small town. Some of the ideas I would discuss are spaghetti dinners, silent auctions, road tolls, bake sales, crispy creme donuts sales, dances, and asking your city or town hall for donations. Fundraising seems straightforward, but for teams that haven't had to raise that much money at once, it can be very beneficial to hear ideas from others who have been in that position. I would like to present on the topic and then invite participants to ask questions and share their own ideas and experiences.
