Join the Educational Experiences Team as they discuss how participating in the Destination Imagination Challenge Experience gives team members the opportunity to practice workplace readiness skills such as empathy, teamwork, personal responsibility, self-awareness, emotional regulation, social awareness, and goal-directed behavior. The elements and processes of Destination Imagination are not merely limited to use with teams of students solving DI Team Challenges and Instant Challenges. Creativity, the creative process, and Destination Imaginations pedagogy are excellent building blocks for use in any learning environment. Not only do these elements energize a project or lesson but these elements bring life-long skills for innovation and success in solving any challenge life presents. Join Director of Education, Johnny Wells, for some tips on motivating learners in the classroom by using Destination Imagination approaches. Attendees are eligible to receive a certificate of attendance for verifying professional development hours.

Your role as a Team Manager can be simultaneously rewarding and frustrating! DI has several tools available to help you guide your team and hold on to your sanity. We will discuss the available training courses, give an overview of Roadmap, review the Resource Area, show you how you can use the many tools to guide your team without crossing the Interference line, and answer questions about the Team Manager experience.

This session will introduce how to teach the work breakdown structure (WBS) to kids as a good technique to plan and control the scope of a project. As Shammy is a Project Manager she asks this question: How can we teach in a Project Based way if we do not teach the students to develop a proper project management structure?
Destination Imagination has great PM templates, now I want to add the WBS in a Kanban as part of a PM methodology.

This session is intended to introduce Team Managers to DI's Resource Area. We will offer a live demonstration of the basics, including how to be assigned as a Team Manager, how to process your background check, how to download the Challenges and other important documents, and how to share information about your team.
